Trudy Spillman Music Video

Magazine Ad for Digipak

After producing my digipak, I wanted to continue the house style of the product which would also encourage audiences into recognising both products and increase interest in the band.
I used another image of my model in the wedding dress continuing the promotion of the music video and also maintaining the theme of all three products. My initial ideas for the magazine advert were to be easy to read with minimal text and a bold image. My thought about this idea was that it would be eye catching and interesting for an audience to look at which could also help the promotion of the digipak. The colours I chose to use were unusual when looking at conventional adverts, as many stand out using bright colours. I wanted to convey the style of the band as best I could and by using bland washout out tones produced a rock/alternative style which viewers could relate to within this genre.
From the poster within my digipak, I made a few adjustments which included information about the digipak and where to download the featured track- Wonderful. In the left third I placed the most crucial information about the digipak which would draw in the viewer upon reading it, thus gaining more interest in the product.
I also decided to place an image of the current CD which is available to buy online which could also generate interest in the band.

Digipak

This is my final Digipak front, back and track listing covers including a free poster inside- instead of a booklet. When thinking about the house style of my digipak I had to refer back to the ideas for my music video but also consider the bands genre and style. Although the band members are not featured within my Digipak I still wanted to portray their image through my model on the digipak. The images also promote the featured song for the music video as she is pictured in a wedding dress. When planning my ideas for digipak style, I used numerous layouts and experimented with different images and colours. I feel that the outcome of my final product clearly reflects the style and genre of the band and also promotes the female vocalist and this is also something that may attract the audience into buying the product.

Sketch plans

Here is the final plan for my digipak. When thinkingabout the layout of my digipak, I decided that i wanted a poster instead of a booklet design which would be more effective in promoting the song of the music video. Before constructing my layout, I had already prepared my individual covers from preliminary photoshoots with my model. This enabled me to work more efficiently when producing the final product for my digipak. I wanted the design to be mostly pictorial with the back of the digipak limited to a track listing which would engage the audience.
