When thinking of ideas for my music video, I had considered using narrative elements and intertextual refferences to the Charles Dickens adaptation of Miss Havisham. This was because my chosen song continuosly refers to a 'wonderful bride' and therefore made it difficult to avoid this wedding theme. However, in my planning stages this became an inspiration to my inital ideas, as I made sketch plans of each sequence and shot and produced an animation to demonstrate my concept for the video.

The Different- Wonderful lyrics
I see you watching my archenbeinch
Sometimes I feel myself soooo low
My body don’t
No legs
No arms
No make-up
My face looks soooo shine
I felt sunshine
I am a wonderful bride
I am the most
Wonderful bride
Everybody’s here as if for me
I know that I’m so full of passion for him
My passion never will
Guise to the end
No legs
No arms
No make-up
My face looks sunshine
I feel sunshine
I am the most
Wonderful bride

what to think about when producing a music video
1.Promotion
2.Visual- seen and heard
3.Artists are then recognizable- star status
4.Bands/ artists may develop a personal image/ theme through their videos
5.Fun
6.Offers another way to express the emotions and feelings of the song
7.The video can include visual narrative or visual metaphors that enhance the meaning of the song
8.Promotion of the label
9.Audience can identify with the characters within the video
10.Music videos are highly stylized representations of the band; hair, makeup carefully considered.

I like this music video because the techniques used really draw the viewer in. The mise-en-scene style almost represents a film noir setting as the video is black and white throughout. The video is particularly interesting because the viewer is presented with a male character, in a medium close up shot and its as if the viewer is watching him, waiting for something to happen. Although it appears that not much is going on in the video, the audience can figure out that the character on screen is testing his endurance by playing for an extremely long time on the drums. The lyrics also match the scene when it says 'fancy dress' a girl appears wearing a halloween costume.
In this music video it is apparent that alot of editing techniques have been used, as we can see at the beginning, the artist is shot very close up, with light beaming in from behind her. The look of the video is very bright as the editing has been used to define the contrasts of lighting and colour which draws the viewer in. Another effect I have detected in the video is a ghosting tool, which manipulates the subject into two or more copies, giving a very 'hallucinogenic' appearance. I also like this video because the movement of the artists is co-ordinated with the beat and timing of the song, making it entertaining to watch. There are also themes of humour in the video which is something that makes the piece memorable to its audience- pianist in the background.
I initially chose this video as one of my favourites, because of the energy it presents on screen. This video shows a unique use of setting for the track and shows the artist 'growing up' as we first see a baby, then an adolecent and then Luciana begins to sing. This transition fits into the lyrics of the song as its possibly telling a story about teaching someone a lesson as the lyrics go 'I could teach you a thing or two' another key element of the video which I personally enjoy about it, is the representation of the artist - her costume and her attitude is displayed as being a strong character.

My favourite music videos
Fightstar - Palahniuk's Laughter
The mise-en-scene of this video is very unusual as we see the band standing in a pool of water being rained on, holding their instruments. The shots are particularly interesting as a high angle is used in the opening of the video to illustrate the individuals emotions. The song itself has a strong emotional progression of sadness and anger, and the visuals enhance the emotion through lighting effects and CGI- example- lighting in the background of the pitch black scene. It almost looks like they are crying at parts when water runs down their faces. When the song reaches the chorus, the water jumps up suddenly as the artist plays agressively on his guitar, also showing an outburst of anger.
